# check-duration

This command is equivalent to the previous version’s `/status` command. It allows you to see how long you can set a temporary action.

If you [vote for MoonlightBot](/docs/support-our-work/upvote-moonlightbot.md), purchase a [premium subscription](/docs/support-our-work/premium.md), [join the support server](https://discord.gg/hNQWVVC) (where you can also read news and changelogs, participate in [volunteer programs](/docs/support-our-work/volunteering.md) and giveaways, meet the developer, and more), or started using MoonlightBot less than 7 days ago, the durations for how long you can set a temporary action to last increases. Refer to the chart to see all available bonuses:

| Status                                                                                             | Maximum Duration            |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------- |
| Default                                                                                            | 7 Days                      |
| Default [(Beta bot)](/docs/support-our-work/beta.md)                                               | 14 Days                     |
| Joining [the support server](https://discord.gg/hNQWVVC) or for your first 7 days | 31 Days |
| Being a [Premium Subscriber (Basic Tier)](/docs/support-our-work/premium.md#tiers)                 | 90 Days                     |
| Being a [Premium Subscriber (Advanced and greater Tiers)](/docs/support-our-work/premium.md#tiers) | 1 Year                      |
| Having [Voted within the past 72 hours](/docs/support-our-work/upvote-moonlightbot.md) | Double your current maximum |

{% hint style="info" %}
When your maximum allowed duration changes, we recommend that you use [`/list-temproles`](/docs/role-management-commands/list-temproles.md) to check if all of your temporary and pause roles are [sustained](/docs/get-started/faqs.md#how-does-the-temprole-sustain-mechanic-work).
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://moonlightbot.gitbook.io/docs/miscellaneous-commands/check-duration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
